Self-identified Indigenous caregivers are invited to submit an Expression of Interest to join the Limestone District School Board's (LDSB) Indigenous Education Committee (IEC). IECs were formed across the province in response to the recommendations put forward in the Ontario First Nations, Métis, and Inuit Education Policy for school boards to establish these committees and include representation from community members and local service delivery organizations (ex: Friendship Centres).

You can submit your expression of interest by clicking on the forms link below. Expressions of interest will be accepted until Tuesday, November 14, 2023.

It is our hope that this year we can have an increase of Indigenous caregivers from across the district to join the IEC who support education and Indigenous children, youth, families, and kinships. In addition to school-based support, the committee also provides guidance to the LDSB Indigenous Education Team on their initiatives and should be a safe-space to share ideas, the Board Action Plan, and resources for feedback.

We thank you for taking the time to put in an Expression of Interest. Should you have any questions about the process, please do not hesitate to email Superintendent Scot Gillam or VP of Indigenous Education Liv Rondeau.

The Limestone District School Board is situated on traditional territories of the Anishinaabe & Haudenosaunee.
